I read the link to your post. I wanted to comment so bad I nearly screamed. Couldn't though because my post would not be anonymous through yahoo.

You have it so right. I checked the KJV to see to whom it was refering and Island Man are absolutely right. It is referring to Jesus Christ.

In the King James Version (KJV) when Lord and God are written in that way with the lower case letters it is referring to Jesus Christ.

Only when it is written in all capital letters "LORD and GOD" is it referring to GOD ALMIGHTY or Jehovah God.

I also agree with one of the Yahoo posters that stated that GOD ALMIGHTY's name (the tetragrammaton) should not be uttererd as it is holy. The poster on Yahoo also brought out that the name of GOD was forbidden to be uttered.

A poster here on Jwn brought out the point that not even Jesus when he walked this earth used his Heavenly Father's name. He always referred to him as Father in some type of way when speaking of him. "Jesus did not disrespect the Father by callig him by his first name."

The disrespect of the Father and lack of acknowledgement of the son by the wtbt$ is.... Gosh! And, I thought I had the truth before. The prayers for forgiveness is real in my home. SMH

Another self introducton

greeting to all the readership:.

i am a newcomer to this board, and as i have enjoyed reading the self-introductions of others, i'd thought i'd post one of my own.. in 1966 i was a nine year old boy and my parents where going through a messy divorce.

i wound up spending some time with an aunt and uncle who had been jws for all of their adult lives, and they gave me a copy of the wtbts book _from paradise lost to paradise regained_.

Interesting read and no, I haven't posted my story yet. The moves you made took a lot of strength and courage. Few are built that chevy tough.

Also, I was looking at the amount of years that have passed since several have joined and the end has not come. Several distinguished degrees could have been acquired. Doctors, Lawyers, etc. SMH

what do you do when you believe in your heart that your spouse is never going to wake up to the tatt?

when you're sick of the cherade of pretending you can deal with the spiritual division when you dont think you can anymore.

when you're convinced that your spouse is so decieved she is lost in a desert and is fine with living by the mirage.

I empathize with your situation. I cannot speak on it as I have never been in your shoes.

From my limited experience; I would say focus on the kids. They are purer and will see the TTAT a lot faster than your indoctrinated wife. I will not try to talk you out of GOD's arrangement, but will admonish that you take the lead spiritually as you are the head.

It may be a good idea to keeep asking your wife thought provoking questions more often than not. You could also print out that 1969 AWAKE article that Data-Dog posted yesterday and leave it on the table or a place that's convenient for her to see it. Try not to put her on the defensive as that will lead to nothing but hard feelings and arguments.

Just my cent and a half and hope that it will help you move in a positive direction with a clear plan and back -up plan to help you move forward if things get tougher.

.. the new wbt$ donation arrangement/ jw kingdom hall bank account theft... is a very hot topic right now... the wbt$ is literally going to clean out kingdom hall bank accounts,filled with donations from jws... that theft is going to happen world wide..the wbt$ is going to steal from 7 million plus jw`s... .. we have jw elders here on jwn,that know whats going on... they "serve" in kingdom halls,they are "supposed" to be looking after the welfare of the average jw... they know there is a 4 page letter,only one page will be read to the congregation..the rest will be kept secret... they know the wbt$ is about to steal jw donations..on a world wide scale!!!...

.. i would like to know what you active jw elders are going to do about this??!!...

are you going to let "your" congregation know about the other 3 secret pages?...

Luke 12:45 - Does that mean the F&D can go "bad"?

the more i read the gospels the more i get the feeling that jesus warns about organized religion or those that overbear on your faith telling you completely how to worship god.

let's say luke chapter 12 is talking about the f&s.

does vs 45 on mean that the f&s can turn bad so to speak?

It's so sad that they think only good thing in the bible apply to the faithful and discreet slave or governing body. How all the condemnation and guidelines apply only to Christendom and not to all the religions.

Thanks for the post. It will help me a lot before it's too late with my teens.

Its sad to read this,but the enlightenment it brings will benefit so many of all ages to help make their next steps. It will really drive home that they need to have a valid long term plan for survival.

Can't stop shaking my head but I'm sure this will go a long ways for any lingering or resurfacing doubts. Wish I would of had this article 15years ago.

chronic fatigue syndrome refers to severe, continued tiredness that is not relieved by rest and is not directly caused by other medical conditions.. did you have many congregation members, particularly pioneers, that said they had " chronic fatigue syndrome" ?.

that's their "get-out-of-jail-free card.

" they were free to cancel anything at anytime and it was their legitimate reason for not doing anything that didn't involve field recruiting.

Nope, but have a well documented illness that if it flared up could take me away from meeetings for months at a time. The sad part is when I could be there I was. My absence had nothing to do with my spirituality- had everything to do with my health.) It was a huge part of my life and no one was going to tell me what I needed to do to take care of me. (They hated the stance I had taken.)

Having dealt with my illness for so long I knew just how to manage it so I wouldn't get worse. I did what worked for me. I didn't care how it looked to the Elders or their fake a$$ wives. Even though I was very straight forward with them they viewed extended absences as being spiritually weak (although, I studied constantly). SMH

Having left and coming to this board I laugh all the time now because as mines was real...it appears they were looking at me as fading and at that time nothing could of been further from the truth.

The sad part is when I decided to leave I was at a very good place.

They were having yet another "new light" watchtower and I just left after the public talk one day and have not been back.

I take great comfort in answering them with the ..." well, you all will have to deal with Jehovah on how YOU dealt merciless and compassionless with his sheep." It vexes them.

Yep that's what it boils down to, but it's not considered stealing since their names are on the very bank accounts the brothers were dumb enough to add them to voluntarily.

NO! The stage had been set. They have been setting the stage fo this for quite sometime by sending out those letters telling everyone to obey even if it doesn't make sense and by constantly reminding the congregations that to be anything but united is being disobedient and may bring a great reproach upon Jehovah.

So, no, no one will question it outloud in fear of the consequences it may bring.

I remember an ex-elder out of the blue saying "I'm going to take your phone and when I take it you can't call it stealing because I told you I would and you were well aware that it may come up missing. Watch your back" All of us laughed at such hogwash. It was pretty funny and still very much so. I didn't evn make the correlation until after I began to leave. Now it just fits in perfectly. "It's not stealing you know, if I tell you I'm going to do it." LOL

Is the GB really keen on getting more money in the society's coffers, even if their lifestyle doesn't change a bit?

I realized late in life that I can't truly speak on another person's lifestyle or situation just by what is seen day to day. People tell and/or show what they want you to know. For the most part anyways you don't truly know how someone lives or what they have.
